Filed under: Writing & Other Storytelling Attempts
So… I submitted another section of text to NaNoWriMo for counting. 3523 words! Yay! Only need another 46,477 words. At this rate, I need to write 2582 words per day, or about 5.2 pages per day.
You know, the thing is, I find that I do better hand writing the story. At least for a first pass through it. I must be more old school than I thought.
So I have bits and pieces of scenes that occur later in the story hand written. Then I come to the computer, type it all in, edit it (which sucks up all my time) and voila! I don’t really submit very many words per submission.
Hopefully, as this story progresses and I reach those scenes, this word count thing will jump faster.
Until then… err, yeah, guess I should stop wasting words on blogging and spend it on the story.

Yeah, yeah, yeah…
I can’t function that way. I HAVE to go back to edit things in and out.
and it’s not “en masse” which generally means “group” as in: something
done as a group / all together.
No, I think NaNoWriMo is more like vomit writing, or at least it is for me
- bursts and spasms of writing interspersed with pauses to recuperate
before the next heaving torrent of words come out. You get the picture,
nasty as it is.

Umm, forgive me if I’m wrong, but isn’t NaNoWriMo about writing en masse and not editing it? *ducks*
